about
One Voice Under the Stars begins with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, the starting point of Asimov's story.
While Asimov answers Emerson's question with a condemnation of generalized madness, “Opsis” takes the opportunity to inquire into the opinions, desires, and fears of the majority of Lagash’s inhabitants. In almost 14 minutes, this song gives voice to a collective reflection that will eventually lead to revolution. Under a sun approaching its dusk, all will unite to eradicate fear, face the darkness and find answers together, freeing themselves from the grip of power.

One voice under the Stars - lyrics
If stars should appear one night in a thousand years,
how would men believe and preserve,
for father and son, the memory of the city of God?
“Revelations Book”
Wrap yourself in the dark
to know how to live without light
While you only feel silence
and the light of all stars.
Fear running through my veins.
It’s a game of Gods,
who will turn off the light first wins.
To madden in a trice!
Oh! The time is running out
with the last ray of the sun
A thousand years have passed
and now you’ll never be part of me.
The stars shine in the sky.
Learn to wrap yourself in the dark
to fly away when it all feels real.
Along with your eyes,
when nightfall will come
the flames will light up
the way into the night.
Can you hear their song?
Radio waves emit their words
They sing a rhyme
that sounds like a lie.
I can’t hear it
We can’t hear it anymore
And Sunlight hides in your eyes
We’re screaming as one
to take out what’s inside
while we wait for the end of the fall.
Clearing your mind,
ready to live without light?
They just want you to listen to their song
High notes exploding in my brain…
to melt away!
What is there in the Darkness that drives me mad?
“This was the Dark.
The Dark and the Cold and the Doom.
Thirty thousand mighty suns shone down
in a soul-shearing splendor.
The long night had come again”
And now, the change,
it’s here, in my head.
and we are the crowd,
we are the voice.
We are one voice that looks into the dark,
the crowd that sings to real life
We are one voice that sings to our hearts.
the crowd that looks into the dark.
I realize I’ve always lived as a puppet
Who listened to everything that faith wanted from me
I’ve heard so many things that shaped our roots.
Words written in holy books, beautiful... powerful
